This policy explains how MosoPlay Games Inc. (“MosoPlay Games”, “we”, “us”) collects, uses, shares and protects personal information when you use this website, your MosoNet account, MosoBux purchases and our games. We follow Canada’s Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA) and Quebec’s Act respecting the protection of personal information in the private sector (as amended by Law 25), and we give the rights described below to people in other places, including the EU, UK and California.
1. Who is responsible
MosoPlay Games Inc. is responsible for your personal information. Our person in charge of the protection of personal information (Privacy Officer) is Cole Bereskin, reachable at mosoplaygames@gmail.com.
2. What we collect
- Account details: display name, username, email address, password (stored only as a secure hash), date of birth, optional referral username, and your email-news choice with the wording and date of your consent.
- Security information: sign-in sessions, devices, IP addresses, browser or app details, two-factor authentication settings and an account activity log, used to keep your account secure and to prevent abuse.
- Linked accounts: your Steam ID when you link Steam or sign up from the game.
- Purchases: what you bought, amount, currency, date, creator code or coupon used and the payment reference from Stripe. Card details go directly to Stripe; we never see your full card number.
- Game and account data: MosoBux balance, items, friends, notifications, ratings, statistics and match results.
- Messages: the name, email address and message you send through the contact form or support.
- Website preferences: your language and currency choices, stored only in your browser (see the Avis sur les témoins).
We do not use advertising trackers or third-party analytics on this website, and we do not sell your personal information.
3. Why we use it
- To create and run your account, deliver MosoBux and items, and provide online play (performance of our contract with you).
- To process payments, prevent fraud and chargebacks, and keep tax and accounting records (contract and legal obligation).
- To keep the services secure, stop cheating and abuse, enforce our Terms and fix problems (legitimate interests).
- To check that you are old enough to have an account (legal obligation and legitimate interests).
- To answer your messages and send account and security emails (contract).
- To send news and updates by email, only if you opted in (consent). You can withdraw consent at any time from your account or the unsubscribe link.
We do not make decisions about you based solely on automated processing that have legal or similarly significant effects.
4. Who we share it with
We share personal information only with service providers that help us run the services, under contracts that limit their use of it, and when the law requires it:
- Vercel: hosting for this website and the MosoNet account service.
- Neon: database hosting for MosoNet accounts.
- Stripe: payment processing, fraud prevention and tax calculation for MosoBux purchases.
- Resend: sending account, verification and security emails, and delivering contact-form messages to our support inbox.
- Valve (Steam): when you link Steam or play through Steam.
- Google (Gmail): our support and privacy email inbox, where your emails and contact-form messages are kept.
- Fly.io et Cloudflare: online game servers and connection routing for our games.
Other players can see your display name, username, profile, items you use and game results. We may disclose information to comply with the law, to protect the rights and safety of people or the services, or as part of a merger or sale of the business under equivalent protections.
5. Where it is stored
Our service providers may store and process information outside your province or country, including in the United States. Information outside Canada may be accessible to that country’s courts and authorities. Where required (for example under Law 25 or the GDPR), we assess these transfers and use contractual safeguards.
6. How long we keep it
- Account information: while your account is open, then deleted or anonymized after a deletion request is processed, except what we must keep by law.
- Sign-in sessions: deleted when they expire. Game devices: 30 days after sign-out or 180 days without use.
- Notifications: 30 days after being read, 90 days at most.
- Detailed match statistics: 400 days.
- Purchase and tax records: as long as tax and accounting law requires (generally six years in Canada).
- Support and contact messages: messages you send us by email or the contact form are stored in our Gmail inbox (Google LLC) for as long as needed to answer you and keep a record of support history. The contact form sends your message to that inbox by email; it is not saved in our account database. You can ask us to delete your messages at any time.
7. How we protect it
We use encryption in transit, hashed passwords, optional two-factor authentication, access controls and security checks against automated abuse. No system is perfectly secure. If a breach creates a real risk of significant harm, we will notify you and the regulators as the law requires.
8. Children
Our online services are not for children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child under 13 has given us information, contact us and we will delete it. Users under the age of majority need a parent or guardian’s consent to make purchases.
9. Your rights
Depending on where you live, you can ask to:
- access the personal information we hold about you and get a copy, including in a portable format (use “Request a data export” on your account page);
- correct inaccurate information (most details can be changed on your account page);
- delete your account and information (use “Request account deletion” on your account page);
- withdraw consent, for example to email news;
- in Quebec, ask us to stop disseminating your information or to de-index links to it where the law allows;
- in the EU or UK, object to or restrict processing based on legitimate interests;
- in California, know what we collect and why, delete it and correct it. We do not sell or share personal information for cross-context behavioural advertising, and we will not treat you differently for using your rights.
Send requests to mosoplaygames@gmail.com. We may need to verify your identity, and we answer within 30 days. If you are not satisfied, you can complain to the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada, the Commission d’accès à l’information du Québec, or your local data protection authority.
10. Changes
We will post updates here with a new date and tell you by email of significant changes.
